Project Title: Role of the Aging Immune System in Regulating Uveitis

Dr. Apte serves as the Director of Education in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and the Department of Developmental Biology at the Washington University School o9f Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Apte joined Washington University School of Medicine after obtaining a PhD in Immunology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and post completion of a fellowship in Medical Retina and Vitreo-retinal Surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Apte’s areas of specialty include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vascular diseases, retinal surgery macular holes and retinal detachments.
